Having spent the last 20years planning, coaching and running a CrossFit gym the above wellness curve is a staple of any explanation towards describing a fitness journey.
You start your journey unfit. You start to train and train consistently. You possibly do 3 times a week maybe more. Your fitness starts to improve, you lose some weight and very quickly you are Well.
After about 6 months to a year your consistent training has got you to your desired weight. You are hitting Personal Bests in the workouts. Every possible metric is green. Bodyweight, BMI, Resting Heart Rate, VO2Max are all in the desired parameters. Congratulations!! YOU ARE NOW FIT!!
Throughout that journey you have trained with friends, sort help online through YouTube videos and you may even have bought a watch to track your progress. All great ideas and all with there benefits.
Did you see a coach? If you were looking to get fit would you seek out professional help? If you have joined a CrossFit gym like mine you would have been coached and supported from the start and I would argue this is the most efficient use of your time and effort. Making sure every rep and set is going to get you one step closer to your goal. Coaching works!!
Lets change tack a second. You are recovering from a break up, losing your job, finance problems or a bereavement. You are sad, negative and not feeling like you can take on the world. Some time passes by and you start to think about getting out of this rut, this depression.
You buy a Dummies guide to fixing depression, you might confide in a friend a watch a YouTube video or 50 on improving mental health. They all provide som insight however they are not able to look at your specific situation and guide you back to happiness.
Finally you seek out a therapist, a counsellor or psychologist. Someone qualified and able to guide you through your woes. Put new context into your thoughts and work with you to get you back on your feet quickly but also give you strategies to remain healthy and cope better in the future.
These 2 elements of physical health and mental health are well documented. You can find a million Personal Trainers online and thousands of Therapists also. They are well catered for. There is a third part to your health. Sexual/Sensual Health!
Where do you go for help with sex/sensual problems. Now I'm not talking about doctors issues. Im talking about intimacy and touch. When I started the Professional Training Course with Colin I didn't realise how important this was but also didn't realise how bad my understanding of my own need for intimacy was. Something that has improved dramatically since starting this journey.
No sex, bad sex, functional sex, partners using sex and intimacy as a weapon to assert control are all causes of not getting what you need, and thats if you actually know what you need and what your body is capable of.
It's pretty depressing not having your needs met. Something that could lead to counsellor to talk about. A great idea for sure. But what if that doesn't work. You crave touch, a sex toy is effective at scratching that itch but doesn't quite give you the intimacy or the connection.
That is where a Sensual Massage can help. Book a call, have a chat to discuss your needs, get to know the masseuse, build a trust. Discuss what you would like to get out of the massage and then work together so you can get to the right hand side of that wellness curve.
UNSATISFIED → OK → MIND BLOWING ORGASMS and SATISFACTION
Next time you think about health remember it's your Physical Health + Mental Health + Sexual/Sensual Health
